Background:
Intensification of cropping systems and adoption of modern agrotechnologies
have caused a continuous decline in soil fertility leading to low yields
and unsustainability
Balanced fertilization is the only way to bridge the gap between nutrient
supply by the soil and crops uptake, in order to sustain productivity in
modern farming without deteriorating soil health
Objectives:
To study the effect of nutrient management on the productivity and sustainability
of a sorghum-wheat intensive farming on a long term basis
To study the long-term soil fertility management through balanced plant
nutrient supply, with emphasis on POTASSIUM
