International Symposium on Role of Potassium in Sustaining the Yield and its Quality
27-29 October 2011
Hotel Topaz, McLarens Hotel Ltd., Aniwatte, Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Although Sri Lanka has achieved considerable successes in the sphere of community health services and nutrition, problems like malnutrition still need to be addressed. In this context, the agriculture sector has an essential role to play. Rational diversification of crop production, seeking for new ways and means to increase the agricultural produce and dissemination of knowledge about modern technologies for the cultivation of high value crops are several approaches to succeed the above intention. Research-based balanced application of mineral fertilizers is found to be one of the ways to increase the agricultural productivity for self-sufficient crop production and for maintaining soil fertility for future generations.
This International Symposium will be an ideal forum for scientists, researchers, R & D managers and professionals working in the Agriculture sector and related sectors to discuss actual soil fertility issues and concerns resulting from current status of fertilizer application and to share experiences gained from advanced nutrient management practices.
