Bulletin No. 4 on "Fertilizing for high yield Citrus" has been thoroughly
revised by Y.Erner, A.Cohen and H.Magen. Total production of citrus exceeds
that of all other fruit including deciduous kinds and banana. This Bulletin,
dealing with a crop of such economic importance, offers guidance to citrus
growers and their advisors on how to achieve best results in their plantations.
The Bulletin discusses the crop's requirements as regards climate, soil,
water and crop management. Nutrient requirements are covered under the
headings of the major and minor nutrients. The effects of nutrient deficiency
are discussed, with coloured plates showing visual symptoms, and measures
for their correction are described. The determination of fertilizer requirements
using sophisticated methods of leaf analysis is covered in some detail.
Finally, practical fertilizer recommendations from several countries are
described. It is hoped that, as well as providing a practical guide for
growers, the Bulletin may also serve as a reference for further research.
